Description

Learn how to create a well-designed rubric for your subject

A well-designed rubric will ensure that students are clear on the expected aims of assessable learning tasks. For teaching staff, assessment rubrics assist in ensuring an accurate and fair grading process and are a tool for quickly providing rich feedback. When designed well, they speed up marking.

In this session, participants will learn about the key features to consider when designing a rubric for assessment. Various types of rubrics will be discussed and examples from a number of disciplines and learning activities will be shared. Participants are asked to bring along an example rubric from their own teaching context to reflect upon in light of the information discussed.

Participants attending this session will also learn tips and strategies for using assessment rubric tools within the LMS.

This workshop is offered four times per year. To register for an upcoming workshop explore the central workshop schedule.
