LMS maintenance work successfully implemented

LMS technical maintenance work conducted on Saturday 17th September by teams across University Services has delivered successful improvements on the LMS for our user community.

Teams were able to complete complex and proactive maintenance activities on back-end infrastructure and databases, including an upgrade to the LMS application servers, and migrated content stores to enterprise storage levels which has greatly improved the performance and capacity of our system.

We are pleased to report that measurement of LMS performance and user experience taken before and after this maintenance demonstrates an improvement of 5.4% for ‘good page views’ and a reduction of ‘page load’ times by approximately 0.34 seconds to an average page load times of 0.8 seconds.
