LMS maintenance work successfully implemented

LMS technical maintenance work conducted on Monday 5 December by teams across University Services has delivered successful improvements on the LMS for our user community.

The LMS was unavailable to users during the day but was successfully returned to staff and students by 5.45 pm, well ahead of the advertised outage period.

During the maintenance window the LMS was upgraded to a later version to ensure the University keeps abreast of the latest changes to Blackboard and has continued vendor support.

For LMS users there have been some changes to the LMS interface including:

  • New LMS login page
  • New Turnitin interface for staff grading student papers and for students viewing Turnitin feedback
  • LMS will now make use of avatars for staff and students
  • Staff can preview students’ view of “My Grades”
  • New look LMS website
  • New look LMS support request form.

Guides and workshops have been updated to support staff and student with these changes.
