Lecture Capture migration – success!

The University’s new Lecture Capture experience is now live after a successful migration. The new system includes a suite of enhanced features for teaching staff and students.

New features include:

  • Lectures are now recorded and displayed in high definition.
  • Students can take notes or place bookmarks throughout lecture recordings. Students can subsequently search and find these as they view recordings or review them as a compiled personal ‘study guide’. Notes remain private to that student and available to them for as long as they are enrolled in the subject.
  • Teaching staff can upload optional presentation slides to the system and add active-engagement slides such as polls, multiple choice and a ‘drop pin on image’ tool, among others.
  • A new streamlined ‘LMS to Lecture Capture’ subject linking process and interface.
  • Staff can share PowerPoint files associated with lectures via Lecture Capture system

Throughout 2018, more features will be progressively released along with added support and resources for students and staff. Some of these include:

  • Mobile application
  • Single Sign On integration
  • Lecture Capture analytics
  • Support and tools for adding Closed Captions
  • Q&A discussion threads in each recording

We are pleased to report high use of Lecture Capture by students as of March 2018:

33,895 unique student users.

2,368 unique staff users.

80,564 Content hours viewed.

3,988 Lecture recordings captured.
