Project Evolve update: July
Canvas Pilot is live
Project Evolve is pleased to confirm that the Canvas pilot is now live, with many subjects already being taught in Canvas and more to begin in the lead up to Semester 2. A total of 103 subjects are being taught in Canvas throughout the pilot in Semester 2 as per the following list https://staff.unimelb.edu.au/governance/projects/current-projects/information-technology/project-evolve/subjects-included-in-pilot-migration
Access available to all staff
You may have noticed that the LMS website now provides an additional button, 'Login to the Canvas LMS'. All staff can now log in to Canvas where they will find their own 'playpen' subject to explore and experiment with. We encourage you to play! Don't forget that content created in your 'playpen' subject can also be copied to your real subject if you wish.
If you would like to explore a example Canvas subject created by Learning Environments, visit the Canvas catalog page and enrol in 'Introduction to Cooking'.
The example subject is designed to provide ideas and inspiration as to how a subject might look in Canvas, including the use of discussions, quizzes, assignments, and modules.
Support workshops available to all staff
Professional development workshops including Kaltura Video Management System (VMS) and webinar events are now available to all staff in order to get to know Canvas in preparation for 2020. Visit the page and choose from an upcoming workshop.
