iThenticate is a text-matching tool that enables researchers and graduate researchers to compare their research writing drafts with an extensive database of published research literature. It is being implemented as an educative tool, with researchers and graduate researchers encouraged to check their drafts in iThenticate throughout the writing process.

Following a successful pilot in 2018, iThenticate is now available to all UoM researchers, graduate researchers and their supervisors (including honorary fellows).

The University's iThenticate license allows checking of University authored material only. Writing drafts are not stored within the iThenticate database, thereby protecting researchers' intellectual property. Graduate researchers will now use iThenticate instead of Turnitin for their thesis drafts. Further information, support and access instructions can be found here.
